Jim Brooks has been admitted to the practice of law for more than fifty years. His legal experience includes business organizations, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, licensing, complex business litigation, real property, labor and employment, and trade regulation. He has been in private and corporate practice, including being general counsel of a leading multinational computer company and, in his own firm, serving start-up and emerging growth technology companies and other small businesses. He has taught at the high school and college levels and served in local elected public office. For some thirty-five years, he has been interested in population and population-related issues, as well as the ideas/ practices of Native Americans relating to nature and their place in the natural world. With exposure to the work of the Center for Ecozoic Studies and the writings of Thomas Berry, his interests have broadened to include how we transition from the current ecological mess to something, for example, more in keeping with the culture and behavior of Native Americans.
